How Not to Overpack

We have finally mastered the art of not overpacking so we thought we would share some tips. Whether you’re going on a weekend getaway, going on a 2 week vacay, or backpacking Europe, these tips will save you time and space.

1. Pack in outfits

Don’t just throw random items of clothing that you like into a suitcase, but rather pack in outfits that have a purpose. Specific items for specific planned occasions will allow you to save time getting ready while you’re away and give you more room in your suitcase. For example, a dinner outfit, a beach outfit, and an outfit for an afternoon hike.

2. Rewear items of clothing

We just told you to pack outfits for specific occasions, well you can mix and match these outfits to save even more room! You can rewear your dinner jeans from one night to go shopping the next day with a different shirt. This is especially true for pants. Pants take up the most room and are so easy to rewear and mix and match with different tops to create totally new outfits.

3. Limit your shoes

We always find that we pack an excessive amount of shoes, but end up wearing the same pair the whole weekend. If you pack in outfits, you can match your shoes to the outfit, and often rewear the same shoes with each outfit, saving so much space! A white pair of sneakers can go a long way.

These are our top 3 key tips to save room in your suitcase, but I’m sure we still have a long way to go and lots more to learn. If you have any tips of your own, let us know!
